Saturday Meetings are Here!

Stitching Friends will add Saturday meetings to it’s meeting schedule beginning in August! We will begin meeting on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at Seffner-Mango Library from 10 AM to 1 PM.

The meeting dates for August are:

  • Saturday, August 3
  • Saturday, August 17

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Come find bargains galore at the Friends of the Seffner-Mango Branch Library’s two day book sale in the library’s Community Room and the Friends Book Store. All types of books are available and it is a great opportunity to find a wide variety of craft books. Proceeds from the sale go toward programs at the Seffner-Mango Library.

When: Friday, May 31 & Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 10 AM – 6 PM

Where: Seffner-Mango Library located at: 410 N. Kingsway Rd Seffner, FL 33584

Cost: Paperbacks are 50 cents and hardbacks are $1.

2013 Strawberry Festival

Go visit the 78th Strawberry Festival and have a great time with your family.The Festival runs Thursday, February 28 – Sunday, March 10, 2013 and is open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM. Adult tickets purchased at the gate are $10; for full details on the ticket prices, click here.

While you’re there don’t forget to see the exhibits. Members of Stitching Friends have entered items into the Neighborhood Village Competition in the Quilting Department and Knitting, Crochet, and Tatting Department. Keep an eye out for the work of Bunny A., Myesha J., and Linda S. Don’t leave before trying some Strawberry Shortcake!

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Meeting Cancellation

Seffner-Mango Library will be closed on Monday, December 24, 2012 in observance of Christmas. Monday’s meeting of Stitching Friends will be cancelled, and meetings will resume on Monday, December 31.

The Tuesday, December 25, meeting of Stitching Friends, held at  Holy Innocents Episcopal Church, will also be cancelled. Meetings will resume after the first of the year.

Holiday Cookie Exchange

holiday cookieTo celebrate the holidays, Stitching Friends will be holding a cookie and baked good exchange at the Monday, December 17, 2012 meeting from 10 AM to 1 PM. If you would like to participate, bring in goodies in individually wrapped bags/containers for 20 people. As a suggestion, each package should have 2-3 cookies/brownies/bars/mini muffins or a single standard sized muffin/cupcake. You can make the goodies yourself or buy them ready made. Also, bring copies of the recipe for the items you provide. Your offering may be a new holiday favorite and we need to know how to make it for ourselves! To make it easy to take your goodies home, don’t forget to bring an empty bag.

Winter Wonderland

holiday picBring the whole family for some fun time and celebrate the holidays at Brandon Recreation Center! It’s free, and all ages are welcome.

When: Saturday, December 15, 2012, 10 AM to 2 PM
